The Trocadéro station is a Metro station in Paris that gets its name from the Place de Trocadéro. The Place de Trocadéro is famous in Paris and gets its name from the fortified position that is situated on the Bay of Cadiz on the southern part of Spain. This fortified position was actually captured by French troops after the Battle of Trocadero. The battle was led by Louis-Antoine, the then Duke of Angoulême and Charles Xth’s son in 1823.
The Trocadéro is a famous site in Paris and a place of interest for people coming here on a Paris vacation. The Trocadéro is where the Palais de Chaillot is situated and lies in the 16th arrondissement of Paris just across the River Seine and can be easily seen from the Eiffel Tower. There is a small hill near the Trocadéro, which is known as the hill of Chaillot and is a former village. The hill of Chaillot was seen in the World Fair organized in 1867. It was retouched and got a face-lift before the Fair. It has a long history and this is what makes the Trocadero metro station a popular point from where you can take trains to other parts of Paris and to the many places of historical and cultural interest.

The Trocadéro metro station was opened in the year 1922 and is situated in the 16e Arrondissement of Paris and in the Fare zone of 1. There are many places of interest close by like:

•    The Théâtre national de Chaillot
•    The Musée national de la Marine;

The Trocadéro metro station is close to the Avenue Kleber and from here you can travel to the Dupleix metro station on one side and the Boissiere metro station towards Champ Elysses. You will have to follow the Line 6 to reach either of the metro stations from the Trocadéro metro station. You can also take the Line 9 from the Trocadéro metro station to reach the St. Lazare metro station. The Eiffel tower is situated close to the station and once you are out of the station, you can cross across the Palais De Challiot Park to reach Trocadéro on the far side and then cross the River Siene near the Pont d’lena to reach the Eiffel Tower. You can also avail the SNCF train services from the Trocadéro metro station to the CDG airport.
